Born in Long Beach, CA, Mr. Sutterfield graduated from high school in Southeast Idaho and then attended college and law school in Utah.
In addition to these activities, Mr. Sutterfield loves spending time with his wife, eight children, and extended family and friends.

Mr. Sutterfield is a strong advocate for voluntary service to the community.
He was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Riverside Country Club from 2005 to 2007.
He has also served twice on the Board of Directors of the J. Reuben Clark Law School Alumni Association from 1995 to 1998 and from 2006 to the present.
In 1982, Mr. Sutterfield was admitted to practice before the State and Federal Courts of Utah. Two years later, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals Tenth Circuit, as well.
Since that time, he has worked continuously as an active litigator, honing his skills as an attorney.
After spending several years as a partner of Howard, Lewis & Petersen, he decided to strike out on his own and became co-founder and President of Flickinger Sutterfield & Boulton in 1994.
